Anime of the Month

"Rozen Maiden"

     This is something new that I decided that I'd like to start doing. During each month, I'll post an "Anime Of The Month" at some point in time. I'm going to talk about the anime, why I like it and why it may pertain to the season.

(I had a cute image but btw, but I had to take it down due to someone accusing me of hot-linking... The cute picture was linked to another image that was unpleasant so I had to remove it. I apologize to those of you that had to see that.)

     The anime Rozen Maiden may not exactly pertain to the month of September an a certain way exactly, but lately I have been really interested in Lolita related themes. As I am sure you could have figured. While I was searching the web for some new animes (especially those with the aforementioned) I stumbled across this particular show about these dolls that are alive and are participating in an apparently life altering game known as "The Alice Game". The main doll, named Shinku, ends up with a human middle schooler as a result of a wish that he makes after being shunned and ridiculed by his classmates. Antics ensue.

     To be honest I haven't even watched all of the show's seasons. I believe that there are three in total: Rozen Maiden, Rozen Maiden: Traumend, and the newest version (Rozen Maiden (2013)) which was made this year. I wasn't even aware that there were other seasons until I was about halfway through Rozen Maiden (2013). None the less I loved the anime. I thought it had a pretty cool story line, a little bit hard to follow at first, although that may have something to do with the fact that I never watched the previous seasons. The characters were very cute and had depth. The artwork was very well done, full of intricacies and delicateness. 

     And yes, I do intend on watching the rest of the seasons... Maybe just not this month. I felt like this show was very heart wrenching and had lots of drama. I didn't really get that warm fuzzy feeling that I usually get from watching summertime high school animes. Those are always my favorites. However, the intro was really cool! I really liked the song and the imagery.

Hot-linking honestly... All I am doing is praising the show... If anything they should be glad I used their image.

Day 1: Fashion!

So this is my first day blogging! Wish me luck viewers, even though I doubt that I have any. Hopefully I can impress some people and gain an audience! I'll do my best!

     Today we'll be starting with fashion, obviously as the header states. I wanna talk about a relatively new fashion style sweeping the nation! Lolita!

I only with that I could dress this cute!

     

     When I say lolita please note that the fashion has absolutely nothing to do with the book by Vladimir Nabokov. Lolita is a super cute and feminine fashion based out of the lavish Rococo era. From what I have learned so far Lolita originated in Japan and grew substantially with young women and men alike that it has spread from the small country all the way to England, America, and many other countries as well! The dress style includes petticoats, bell skirts, knee high socks, bonnets, parasols, and other doll like accessories. I personally... LOVE IT. I wish that I had the money and the resources to go full on lolita, but living out here in the country there isn't exactly shopping opportunities left and right. Not saying that I can't order offline but who has the time to wait around for weeks for an entire new wardrobe to be shipped anyway? Not me.

     I CAN however up the cuteness on my wardrobe by adding lolita-esque accessories and by practicing loli lifestyle. I think it's almost tea time. :)

     So, I put together a look for this week that is lolita inspired by using some of my favorite accessories and pieces! Without further ado, I present my look for this week!

     This look isn't super special or anything, I am wearing some black felt studded flats, a faux leather high wasted pleated skirt, a sheer floral printed blouse, and a faux flower headband!
