BACK WITH A VENGENCE
I threw this cutie outfit together for a Lis and Josh date night last weekend. Rockin' a messy bun, my golden emblem tiger shirt, my black side-zipper jeggings and my black faux-leather roman sandles!
You may also notice that I don't have earlobe jewelry in? Well, if you know about stretched lobes, you probably already called my folly. I am wearing clear, silicone ear skins. I love them. I also gauged my ears up! I am now at 5/8's of an inch!

Josh says that I have to stay at that size. v-v
I don't care though, now I can stock up on kawaii ear jewelry!
I am also taking a *fakie septum ring for a test run. Once I get a little money set aside for the actual piercing I will go and get the real deal, can't wait! I am ready to move on and take out my cute little spider bites.

i got a pant suit!
I have been wanting to get myself a pant suit for ages now and I finally managed to score one from my local Ross. This pant suit is fashionable, cool and it looks like a "baby clown suit" or something like that.
Paired with my favorite glittery-gold flats, this outfit really does say something along the lines of "Hey, I am a disco queen."
I have also been wearing my hair pulled like this a lot more often here lately! It's cute, quick, easy and keep my headaches at bay. It also keeps the back of my hair from going way flat.

uhg, I am so shiny in this post.
Like I said, I am going to be making quite a few posts with looks that I will be wearing to work, so this is one of those.
It's really fun to re-style other pieces that I have that I would not necessarily thought of as being work clothes. And I love this necklace, it has tiny yellowish gems surrounding it with some type of brown crystal mass in the center.

another look for work.
Honestly, I wish that I had a new camera. I also don't wear a bolero with this dress unless I am wearing it to work because it is a spaghetti strap. I got it from a Ross and it is way cute.
That is a size small children's belt that I re-purposed into a skinny belt that I use to accentuate my waist.
I wore a small ring to work that day... It is has a completely black (fake) jewel. You can't tell, but on either side of the jewel there is a small heart, so it matches the dress pattern!. Again, it makes me think back to LOTR. Doesn't it just look like it could be an artifact of Mordor?

Here is yet another of my new looks for work!

I already had my owl tank top that you see here, but the cardigan and the skirt are a new addition! I also have a new pair of way fresh wedges.
Here is another pair of handmade-gauge-hiders. They work perfectly for shielding my not so work appropriate lifestyle choices.
... And my new wedges.

Keep checking back daily for more looks and other posts!

here is my first work outfit!

Remember how I said that I went shopping for my new receptionist job? Here is one of my new outfit coordinates!
Even thought it is technically supposed to be business casual in our office, we can all get away with wearing really cute outfits. I am talking high heels, flowy blouses and cute summer dresses.
I love this new shirt so much, the floral print is so delicate.
I don't have to wear my lip rings at work because I have had them long enough that they won't seal up one bit. I can leave them out for eight hours straight and it's cool. I made the earrings so that I can cover up my gauges. It's true that people in the world of business will not take you seriously if they are visible... Or at least I think so.
Here are my super cute new flats. The are like bedroom slippers with righteous buckles on them.

this isn't the fanciest of looks that i have done, but...

I decided that with all of the moving, cleaning and basically working out, that I would do a look featuring one of my workout-outfits!
Like I said, this is not one of those looks that I put a whole lot of effort into with accessories, exotic eye makeup and frisky style... But I love my harem pants and my bandeau top! This is one of the outfits that I will normally wear when I am working out (i.e. yoga) or just cleaning the house. Which I definitely consider working out anyway, you can really work up a sweat when cleaning thoroughly!

And yes, that is a photo of the Washington Monument that I took a photo of when Joshua and I got to go to D.C! It was very rainy and very cold.

look at my new shirt
Joshua got me this awesome shirt a few weeks ago and I think it rocks. It's a little different from what I normally wear, but I am happy with the look! I don't really like how the shorts look though, come to think of it...
Why do my lips look so white here... I look like I have been rubbing coke on my teeth.

more navajo-inspira for you all

I wanted to do a look for this week that was soft and feminine, but also with a slight Native vibe.
I love to drag out my legitimate raccoon tail for these types of looks...
Oh yeah, I straightened my hair. Every time I do straighten my hair, I am always disappointed with the results.
I am not sure what type of crystal that necklace is made out of, but it is really pretty and iridescent. The beaded bracelets were made by me. I think that the banded bracelet  is an orange obsidian stone, but I may be wrong.
The plugs are "9/16's and they are made from real moonstone.

this week's look is dark, but with navajo-inspira

So I have been using fashionfinder.asos to combine different pieces of my wardrobe together to make Navajo inspired looks. Here is this week's:
I love my striped crop top and my ripped black shorts... Who would have through that I could use them in a look like this.
Me. I did.
As you can see here, I used a combination of different war patterned jewelry to accent this look. I am also rocking my black moccasins yet again. I also styled my hair into a double-ponytail to give it some more length and volume. I failed a little bit and you can see my bathroom doorknob through my hair. Whoops. The necklace and the two smaller bracelets were handmade by myself.
I wanted to do my eye makeup in a way that would also bring out the Native American in myself... Even if I probably have zero blood line. I used a paint brush that I trimmed down to be extra thin so that I could get a very smooth line for my lower eyeliner. I also accented my eyes with some red lipstick. Yep. Lipstick.
Here you can get a good look at my handmade earrings. I hope that this week's theme doesn't offend anyone. If it does, please message me. I just really admire Native American heritage and I wanted to emulate their fantastic creativity, although my creativity surely pails in comparison to the real deal.

remember last week when i was playing with the idea of native american inspiration?

The inspiration continues this week as well. And probably for a few more weeks. Since it is summer here in the sunshine state, wearing black constantly can get very uncomfortable. So I figured that for a while at least that I would play around with Native American inspired fashion looks... While still of course keeping my edginess.
Alright, so this isn't actually a "look" persay. But I did go all through my wardrobe and compiled all of my favorite Navajo-esque pieces just for your viewing pleasure. Here I have purses, pouches, bracelets, necklaces, belts, plugs, earrings, feathers and headbands as well. Throughout the next few weeks you will be seeing many outfits combined with these little pieces that all in all may help to inspire you as well to go native.

'been trying to add a little native american chic to my normally very dark looks

I went shopping with my Mom at our local Goodwill so that I could find a few interviewing outfits to get ready for... Interviews. This is one of the tops that I got. As you can see it is very flowy and great for the stifling summer heat. It also has a few designs on it that reminded me so much of Native American type designs. Thus, becoming the perfect occasion to break out my black moccasins.
I don't do selfies normally, but this one is in the name of fashion.
And here are the moccasins. I don't wear them a lot because I am paranoid that they make my feet look really long... They do, I am telling you. But Josh likes them and he always reassures me that they look cute.
I, of course, never believe him.
I experimented with my hair for this post and I tried a side braid with a deep part. Holla to my girl KStew.

you know, I never made a look with this tank yet.

I got this really cute tank top from Urban a while back, but I never got around to making a look with it. I guess since it's summer and it's stifling now, it is totally called for. I got the shorts as a hand me down from my cousin.
And no, I did not cut my bangs. This is a simple trick that I found online. I will be doing a blog post about hairstyles that I found online next week sometime and you all will get to see a few styles that I tested out, including this one.

summer fashion combos

It's getting to be that time of year in Florida in which the heat levels rise and the temperatures can reach upwards to the hundreds. That said, being fashionable without looking sloppy can be hard sometimes when you are trying to create looks that breathe well and are comfortable enough to sweat continuously in. Because, you know, that happens here.

So, today I am going through my wardrobe and I am selecting the pieces that are best suited for the almost unbearable Florida temps.
Summer Wardrobe by cranialache
Here I have all of my nice, cool summer tops! As you can see, these are a nice combination of indie fashions and pastel goth pieces. I love my tops.

I also have many bandeau tops to go along with my summer looks, plus plenty of short-shorts and two printed skirts. All of my looks from here on out will be made up of these pieces in different combinations!

hair texture

today I'm talking about hair texture.

...More specifically, the texture of my hair. For the longest time, I have struggled with how to style my hair as you have probably read in many of my past posts. Basically, I am still learning what to do with this mess. For years I have tried many various (experimental) haircuts.
(2010-2012)

Obviously, there is a huge gap between 2012-2014, but most of that time consisted of me pulling my hair back into a bun, trying to get that shaved spot and all of my layers to grow in. I went from what I am wearing now, to scene hair, to a typical, asymmetrical, lesbian hair cut, then back to my good 'ole elementary do'. But I loved it when my hair was short, it curled magnificently on its own and looked amazing straightened. I could look like a guy or look like a girl depending on what pants I was wearing. Girls love that obviously.

Today, I am still learning a lot about my hair but I lay off the shears and heated tools for the most part. The only thing that sucks about my hair is how full it is on the sides and how flat it lays in the back. It is almost impossible for me to get good volume on the back of my head, so I end up using bows and braids to keep it from slicking down.
With age and so much cutting, my hair's texture has changed drastically from how it was when I was a small (smaller) girl. I absolutely have to cut layers into it, otherwise I look like a Christmas tree. However, here recently I have been center parting to help quench my urge to cut micro bangs into my hair. And along with that great, uncontrollable texture, as a result of not using products to permanently dye my hair, my strands have developed a wonderful, natural ombre to the tips.
