I really like going for extreme bike rides...
And I am not kidding. Since Josh and I live in the country we have easy access to one our beautiful and free access State Forests. The Ralph E. Simmons Memorial State Forest is a whopping 3,638 acres all together and makes for great camping, hunting, hiking and biking grounds. I have also seen many people riding horses on the various trails!
Now viewers, you have to promise me that if you just so happen to live near this park and decide to visit... Please keep it pristine. The Ralph E. Simmons State Forest is a beautiful landmark and should be kept that way. It houses many wild animals and they don't need people, trash and rowdiness wrecking up their home. I hate seeing litter on the trail.
So anyway, back to what I was saying. Once and a while Josh and I will go out here for a hike, but lately we have been going on bike rides. One of our favorite trails ends on a peaceful beach on the St. Mary's river. This particular spot takes about thirty minutes to reach on bicycle, but it is definitely worth the ride considering that once you get out there you can have a picnic and take a dip in the cool murky water. The only downside is that when you first start the trail there is a steep decline which makes for a great coast on the way down... But you definitely need the grit to hike up it on the way back. But who cares, the cardio is great and nature is gorgeous.
We had a particularly special concurrence on our last trip. Whilst pedaling towards our goal, Josh and I noticed some rather large squirrels run across the path... However when we drew closer we discovered that they weren't squirrels, in fact they were baby raccoon! So cute! I wish we had gotten a picture... But I'm a little too forgetful and totally forgot the camera. I promise that next time there will be many pictures to put up from our hike.
