'Apple Cider'

What better way to celebrate the season...
Than with a tasty fall treat!

With Halloween and Thanksgiving just around the corner, I decided that it is high time to start making some festive fall goodies. My first attempt at making Hot Apple Cider has been a great success. Using a simple recipe that I found on www.food.com, I was able to bring this warm, sweet mixture to life in just a few hours.

Arming myself with just a few simple supplies I began the process of making Hot Apple Cider.

My quartered apples! And no, I didn't install orange counter tops for the Halloween season... They came like that. -_-

Getting ready to boil...

The apples, spices, water and sugar after the boil!

Try not to be deterred from this recipe just because you have to cook the apples for three hours... Wait to do this recipe when you have a day that you are stuck at home! You'll have the extra time and plus, you can make so much of this and then freeze it for later! Not to mention your house will smell amazing.
I feel bad... I intended to get pictures of straining the apples and that whole process... But between scalding myself and the stickiness I didn't take any pictures.

All in all this recipe is great. I was very happy with my results and cannot wait to make this again! Although... I will just go ahead and tell you. I cheated by using about a half a cup of apple juice.
