anime of the month!

love live!

If there is one thing I love more than anime... It's anime that experiments with animation! One of the key differences that sets this anime apart from others is something that I noticed during the first entry sequence of the show. I thought that the characters looked really sharp and almost 3D during certain parts. Well, they are, in fact 3D characters during different scenes. Now, I am not saying that there aren't other animes that have effectively executed something like this, just that I haven't seen any. I was so impressed with the show's animation that I am putting in up as anime of the month. Other than the animation, this show is really cute and basically your normal slice of life, cutesy anime.

Best Find Ever

image
I only put the ramen there because it looks delicious...

I just found the most amazing website ever... For months I have been looking for a great website that offers hundreds of photos of gorgeous hairstyles... But to no avail. Then, just the other day, out of no where I was struck with the most amazing, simplistic, and obvious idea ever. Japanese hairstyles. All I had to do was go to Google, type this in, and instantly I found myself barraged with listings for all types of hairstyle lookbook-esque websites! I selected my very favorite one to feature in today's post! So here it is!

Oh gosh... This website is so loaded to the brim with cute hairstyles for every style, face shape, and occasion! I will never be at a loss for new hair style ideas again.

Day 20: Art!

Domo! Come into my home...

I LOVE JAPANESE HOMES. No, seriously, I find the simple yet decadent style to be completely captivating. Although from what I understand most of Japan's residents live in small apartments, they still contain that great cultural grandeur that I find so fascinating... And why am I talking about all of this on art day? Because I think that it is an art! I mean look at that tatami!

That strange table is called a Kotatsu. It has a heating device underneath the table coupled with a heavy blanket under the table top for ample cuddliness.

Okay, so this is probably a very small apartment, but like I said, seeing as there are thousands upon thousands of people living in Japan many people reside in downsized living quarters. My dream is that one day when Josh and I build our own home it will have many aspects of a traditional Japanese homestead. Including a tea house, kotatsu, and tatami separators.

(A beautiful Japanese tea house)

The warmth of the woods and the sleekness of the design is just so inviting to me. Sometimes I wish that I had been born Japanese so that Americans wouldn't think I was so strange for being borderline obsessed with the culture. Maybe one day my dream will come true and I will live in a gorgeous setting like these and will be speaking in Japanese with Joshua... Now I only have to convince him to let me give him lessons... After I learn of course. :)
