online store

i had mentioned that i was considering this a while back

Like I mentioned a few posts back, my Mama finally came home from Iowa. And along with Mama, came all of Mama's jewelry making tools. All of which she bestowed upon myself. Therefore, for the past few weeks or so, I have began to prepare merch to sell online!

Yes, I will be selling handmade jewelry with different themes such as mori girl, crystals and pastel goth pieces on an online shop. If I do well with my pieces online I may also do a few free giveaways for those of you that show the best interest. I haven't decided yet how I am going to incorporate a giveaway into my posts yet, but I will keep updating on my blog as I go.

Here are a few sneak peaks!

blog feature

yet another blog ran by a lovely woman

It's been a minute since I've found any blogs that I can feature. It's not like they run few and far in between, quite the opposite. There are so many blogs out there that it is just as hard to pick a single one out. But today, I am featuring a blog that discusses everything from what to get your Mom for Mother's day, to health and beauty.

Take a peek.

website feature!

all women stalk

Wow, sometimes I feel like the internet is just a treasure trove of wonder and I am the little mermaid with a cavern chalked full of beauty websites. I found all women stalk just like I find all of the other websites that I feature. The reason that I like this page so much is just because of the vast, sheer amount of information that it boasts. There literally has to be thousands of different posts on the website all dedicated to beauty, lifestyle and health. I have no idea why is is actually called all women stalk (kind of a weird name for a beauty/lifestyle page), but who cares. This page is a virtual wealth of knowledge. Look at it and just try to pry yourself away. I am definitely adding a link to this page in my following/sites page.

BFB

I did mention that Joshua has a band, right?

He's the drummer for the band Bachelors For Buchanan (BFB). The guys (Joey, Andrew and Joshua) have been making music all together for a long time now and they have slowly been working on getting their stuff together so that they can become a considerably popular indie rock group. So far they have already done a few shows in Jacksonvile, Fl, they have also made some demo tracks for anyone out there who is interested in listening. I am writing about the guys on my blog to get them a little more publicity from the traffic on my page. BFB rocks so listen to their stuff. Add. Subscribe. Share.

Outfit Inspiration: Lana Del Rey
23 GIFs Of Lana Del Rey Doing Something Really Slowly
Lana is a beauty queen. To me, all of her fashion just screams traditional, American, big-haired beauty. Her haunting and more often delicate, yet powerful songs deliver a feeling that she believes that she is strong and that she wants to be strong... But somehow struggles. I think that Lana Del Rey is a fabulous artist, even if Josh always gripes at me when I play her stuff. He says that it all sounds the same, and maybe that is true, but I could care less. To me, Lana rocks.
I feel like I will probably attempt a look inspired by Lana again sometime in the future. Now, when I think about Lana Del Rey, I picture big, beauty queen-teased hair, thick-winged eyeliner and pouty lips. I am not to brave enough as to tease my hair to such an extent, especially considering that I am working on growing out my locks. Therefore, I parted my hair down the center and gave my waves a considerable tousle along with a spot of dry hairspray. I also donned a cute flower headband. I was inspired by how spooky Lana's music sounds... That's why I chose a semi-formal, black dress. I dressed down the look a little bit with some chic, casual fringed boots. I am also wearing my chunky, black ring, along with my saints necklace.

The About Me

If you haven't already noticed...

I added a new about the author section on my homepage! It was recommended to me by various other websites that it is an absolute must to have an about section, apparently. Hopefully the new section (along with my Tumblr) will also add some positive traffic to my page! If you haven't already seen the about page here is a link! You can also find the page just above little skull on my homepage under "(about the author)".

Tumblr Promotion!

Oh yeah, I made myself a little Tumblr.

I really wanted to start promoting my blog in a healthy way so that I could get some more traffic than I currently am... And what better way to do that than to post a bunch of cute pictures of myself, while sharing some of my favorite blog posts of my choice... That are mine. It's a win win situation. You get to see more cute pictures of me and I get more traffic. I'm going to add a link to my Tumblr page so that you can also have easy access to it as well!

If you haven't been to the page already, here is the link!

Outfit Inspiration: Steely Dan

Where do I begin with these guys... Well, they may be old now, but back in their heyday they really had funky beats. When I listen to Steely Dan I always get a feeling of slight relaxedness/badassery/drugaddicticus. With their music, they can go anywhere from super mellow slow jams, to haunting melodies about time's past. Steely Dan are an epic tribute to jazz-funk-rock from the early 1970's. That being said, I wanted to do a look that paid tribute to their retro-vintage, old fashioned (yet, new at the time) sound.

I wanted to create a casual look that really got the feeling of what I was aiming for. Hence the sued moccasins, Jim Morrison inspired necklace (made by me, for Joshua), high wasted jeans, big sunglasses, raccoon tail, and the vintage purse.

To me, Steely Dan represent a lost age. An age of fast paced, drug reeling, cruising the coast with a bottle of Jose Cuervo Gold kind of age. What that says to me is big sunglasses and classic-vintage 70's wear for the laid back partakers of the so called fine Columbian.

Music inspired Fashion

While taking a stroll/scroll through Tumblr, I found this:
At first I didn't think much about this picture, but then I took a second look and decided that this was a pretty cute concept... And seeing as how I feel like I have been running short on outfit ideas, this would be a great way to refuel the fiya! Therefore, the next few looks that I do will be inspired by musical artists that are my favorite. You get to see cute outfits and you also get to learn about some of my musical preferences.

Enjoy, buttercups.

Anime of the Month

Since it is almost Halloween After all...

I figured that this month's Anime of the Month should after all be something delightfully scary. So here it is...
Ghost Hunt

(Not mine)

Ghost Hunt is a pretty cute anime about a young school girl that meets a group of paranormal investigators that help their local town help put their concerns about the paranormal going on-s to rest, or so to speak.
This anime spooked me a couple of times pretty good! I was surprised. Ghost Hunt has many cutesy elements in it, but it was refreshing to actually be shocked and caused to jolt in my seat during the show. All in all, it's pretty well written and there is your typical anime humor. There is next to no fan service in this, so no pervy stuff.
Another interesting aspect of this show's plot is that the paranormal team doesn't always find a ghost. Infact, sometimes it just turns out to be a decomposing building, or something as simple as a person, usually a child, just projecting their stress and allowing it to manifest.

But sometimes... The episodes are so spooky I have to go find Josh and hold his hand.

Freelance Writing

imageimage
Who would of thought that I could write?

So maybe I'm not exactly a writer. At all. But I have been writing pretty diligently these last two weeks!

I am so relieved that I am finally earning a little bit of income... It is such an awesome feeling to be able to contribute! I may not be earning that much right now, it will take a little more time before I can start earning a significant amount of money, but I have money and that is what counts. If I wanted to go buy myself something with money that I earned I could do that. I can rest assured that I can buy people Christmas presents, which I was really worried about... And here I am worrying about Christmas when I should be thinking about bills. You see how my priorities are ordered.

American Horror Story

Today I'm going to be talking about one of my favorite TV programs...

American Horror Story!

American Horror Story is a television series that exceeds the boundaries of what most people would consider "appropriate television". The series started back in 2011 with the first season, American Horror Story: Murder house. I remember how amped up I was to watch it... I love horror movies so you can imagine how excited I was that a TV show would be airing that was intentionally macabre and meant to terrify.

Immediately I was blown away. I thought the directing was fantastic... The characters were very easy to relate to and every minute had me sitting on the edge of my seat.

And I thought the first season was scary...

Season two, American Horror Story: Asylum (2012) literally blew Murder House out of the water. Again, the characters rocked, the directing was great and I was utterly horrified by the audacity of the show. But in all of the best ways. The show also started developing an interesting strategy of introducing an entirely different plot, setting and time period, as well as bringing back cast members from the previous seasons to play new parts!
With the newest season coming out, American Horror Story: Coven, the plot has changed yet again, the time period has changed and there will be recurring cast members from previous seasons such as the languid Jessica Lange (Big Fish; Sweet Dreams; The Postman Always rings Twice), Evan Peters and Lily Rabe. There are also going to be some rather big fish (no pun intended) actors such as Kathy Bates and Emma Roberts!

The newest season just aired last week and I wont be saying much about the plot to avoid being a spoiler but you can rest assured that the show will not disappoint.

Get ready to get the hell scared out of you...
MWAHAHAHA!

Day 24: Media!

The Vocaloids are coming...

I sure wish that they would come to Florida. I would love to see them in all of their digital, cute wonder. If you don't already know what a Vocaloid I'll tell you. Vocaloids (ボーカロイド Bōkaroid) are digital singing voice synthesizers. In other words they are cute animated boys and girls that sing in a very cute fashion.

Why do I think Vocaloids are so cool? Well for crying out loud they come on stage in 3D! What could be more cool than that?!

Day 19: Media!

Ever heard of Studio Ghibli?

Alright, so usually I would just talk about animation on Fridays, but movies are technically a form of media and I really just want to talk about Hayao Miyazaki and how great he is...

Who is Hayao Miyazaki? Well, he's a Japanese film director that directs... You guessed it, Studio Ghilbli films. He is also the co-founder of the studio itself, along with Isao Takahata. Isao Takahata has also directed many Studio Ghilbli films along with Miyazaki-senpai.

(The handsome devil himself, Hayao Miyazaki)

Studio Ghibli have released more than fifty films including full feature lengths, music videos, short films, commercials and video games. That's not even mentioning the pre-Ghibli projects. I no, I don't care if they are cartoons because the time and talent that goes into these films are timeless. One of the first Studio Ghibli films that I ever saw was a movie called Spirited Away (2001) and immediately after watching I was hooked. I was, and still am, completely taken aback by how much care went into the animation and character depth. Each scene has so much complexity and detail that every different setting in the movie is a feast for the eyes. Most of the Studio's films that I have seen are presented in a similar fashion. From being set in a bathhouse fit for kings, to a simple county side organic farm (Only Yesterday, 1991) every piece of the films resonate beauty and a graceful pencil stroke.

(I do not own Studio Ghibli nor any of the rights to any of these pictures. I'm just a fan.)

Did you see Hannah Montana at the VMA's?

I couldn't help but miss it... There isn't much to say other than that. Just watch the video.

Day 4: Media!

Today's topic: Risky drugs... Saving lives?

People having been using drugs for hundreds, maybe even thousands of years throughout various cultures and all over the world for spiritual, medicinal and recreational purposes. Nowadays people are still using them, but as I am finding out they have become a little bit more taboo, not to mention the legal boundaries that are restricting the use of recreational drugs. But today I would like to talk about how doctors are fighting for the rights to test some of the most controversial drugs on humans to cure many debilitating and even life threatening illnesses.

Wait, wait, wait... You mean to tell me that... Marijuana CURES CANCER?

Oh yes people. You read that right. There are various studies with supporting proof that there is evidence that suggests that pot can prevent; and with extensive treatment can cure some forms of invasive cancer!

(Not mine, obviously)

There have also been studies that show signs that the cannabinoids that exists in marijuana plants not only can help alleviate cancer patients, but they can also treat a variety of illnesses including but not limited to seizures, people with appetite dysfunctions and as well as people that have chronic pain.

You should read this and do some research yourself!

Psychedelics Changing Lives

Some studies have shown that two popular psychedelics,
psilocybin mushrooms and LSD have been showing signs through studies to help cure cluster headaches, an incredibly disabling affliction that causes a person to have migraines that last hours and sometimes every single day.

Now, I'm not saying "Hey! Go out there and do a bunch of drugs!" But I do believe in getting treatment to people who are struggling just to live normally and that are having trouble getting an effective treatments just due to law restrictions. Watch this video by a Youtuber known as Neuro Soup, she is very experienced and knows what she is talking about.
