You know it's been so hot...

It has been so hot that all of the little humming birds in our area have yet to migrate. Or Maybe they are migrating and are just swooping down for a sip from my hummingbird feeder... But whatever the case, I'm not going to complain. I love seeing the petite visitors come to my feeder... I have been trying my best to get a picture of one of them, but they are so fast! It's almost impossible. But when I do get a picture, you will be the first to know.

Check out these teeny tiny hummingbird eggs. Their nests are so small and funny. It looks like this one is made out of tree moss! There actually many species native to Florida, about 15 or so different breeds!
I am worried though. We seem to have received a cold front blowing in and I am concerned for the small birds in our area. And by cold front I mean the temperature only dropped into the low 80's. But still, it's cooler for us when we always expect near hundred temps.
None the less, if the hummingbirds are going to migrate they had better get going with it or their little birdy bums are going to freeze.
Maybe fall will be making an appearance soon and I can start seriously getting into the mood for the season.
