nautical nails

spring is here, so I couldn't leave out my fingies!

Since I have been inspired by nautical/mermaid themes over the last few days, I figured that I would give my nails a little bling to go with the theme.

I wanted to give my nails a look that seemed like I had just dipped my nails into the ocean and they just magically came alive with oceanic colors. I took my new shade of nail polish in Hyponautical and gave myself an ombre fade effect on my nails. It's simple, but effectively gorgeous. All I did was apply two coats of my base, then, I carefully applied three layers of glitter, each creeping closer to my nail bed. I made sure to leave the nail bed nude so that way the ombre would be perfectly gradient. I finished off the color with a clear top coat to smooth and seal it all in.
